Alien trees

by Me | Score: 4900

There is a great  storm brewing within the precinct of enclasure. It is derived from deciduous trees emiting pheromones that cause humans to die off. Dr. Snogol, a superficial mortician claimed most of the cases as the corpses  of  the dead tended to lose most of their features.  He would charm a feather duster to wipe their faces clean of infected pollen and then begin his reconstruction. Unfortunately what  no one took into account was the fact that  the trees were  sentient and pulling a planet, more of a meteor actually, inhabited by their ilk closer to earth. One of the dead was an enthusiastic art historian by the name of Carl Spencer. His death was marked as a great tragedy as he was a much beloved scholar and novel writer. Much uproar was had when his latest novel was stolen when his computer was hacked post humusly. The book was published on the dark web by an advertising executive looking  to find cash to  pay  for  his medical bills. The annonymous executive had contracted the tree pheromones from an infected box of markers that the alien trees had planted among the people when  they departed from their meteorite home. Herald, that was the name of the executive, had a daughter who brought the markers home from school. She was somehow immune to the disease however due to reasons.
