Interruption

by Klaudia Adamus | Score: 3800

"Birds flying high, you know how I feel..." words floated through the room along the smooth melody and Micheal Buble's voice. The cozy atmosphere made Claudia relax under her fluffy blanket. Yes, this was the best evening she'd had all week. She closed her eyes to melt into the warmth of the fireplace in front of her.
It was quite late. The sun was setting outside making the snow glow in its last rays of light. Claudia had rented this cabin a week ago, and it was a good decision. She needed this change of scenery. Everything was beautiful here, and every morning she would wake up to the sight of mountaintops and crisp, fresh air. The cabin was not big, but she was alone, so it suited her.
She was busy all week, so today was a day for cleaning - nobody would do it for her after all. She finally opened her eyes to look at an abandoned mop leaning against the front door, and sighed. She was the type of person to forget things once she was done with them, as with the mop this afternoon. She decided to put it back. She took a step towards the door.
"WHAM" the door opened with a huge bang.
She jumped at the sound of glass shattering - the mop fell onto the nearest table and broke a glass standing there. She cursed under her breath.
"What is the meaning of this?!" she said barely controlling herself. She got startled, so she meant to unleash her fury upon the man standing now at the door.
The man looked at her with a crazy gaze. He was wearing overalls and looked like a gardener. A candy bar in brown packaging was sticking out of his pocket.
"I'm asking you again. What is the meaning of this?" she asked suddenly frightened of the stranger.
