TO THE TOP

by Jennings Alverson | Score: 3350

Your heart is beating out your chest, your breath coming short. The air turns black all around you, and you can't even move your legs anymore. There's something holding you back, something making you feel insecure. Even back at the temple, nothing made you feel so concerned over the result. Despite the monks punishments, back when you were a child, nothing really buried that flame inside. You know what you want, but have been too much of a coward to achieve it, so stand your ground and start climbing. Because there's a mountain in front of you, big and tall, imponent and strong. You have to fill that bottle yourself, not wait till life makes it rain. Half-air, half-water, you don't care about that. It's either winning or losing, but that doesn't sit right. In the end, what you most enjoy, is the journey to the top. You'll make it at your own pace. Why would it matter if the bottle were to shatter, as it only would make the water flow freely. You're a bird, so fly high and reach the sky, find your way home, and make try to make it to the top or don't try at all.
