The other person in the house

I was a stormy night and my parents were away on a business trip leaving me alone in the house. Although the storm outside was almost deafening, I hardly noticed it. I was too busy trying to shake the feeling that I was being watched....and crying my way through a romance movie; the main character's love interest had died. I reached for a box of tissues and my hand brushed against a slip of paper. On it were the words, "It's a strange feeling, being watched. Isn't it?"
My heart skipped a beat. I looked around the room and to my slight dismay, and relief.
Then came the voice, "You know I'm here. So don't try to run."
I stood slowly," Who's there."
"You don't want to know."
