The sounds of the cabin

by Siriusly Black | Score: 2050

The cold wintery winds wipped at the window showering it with a bustle full of snow. The old wooden cabin creaked and groaned but still held promise. I was a old roofer who had just layed down in bed and was listening to the sounds of the cabin around me. The window shuddered as anouther blow wistled to it, and wood in the fireplace was still strong with heat, warming up the whole place when there was a knock on the door. I stopped and listened again, thinking it was just the wind but then I heard it again a small knock. I sprang from my bed to the door, and unlatched the lock. Swinging open the door I was greeted by a cold storm of wind and snow making the fire flicker. Out standing in the snow was the fundraiser people, dressed in there bright yellow shiny suits and held bags for donations. "Come in" I say not caring what they wanted, but just wanted them out of the cold. Thery walked in there shiny black boots creaking on the floor boards
