Running through Asylum

Something bumped into their backs, shoving the two of them to the floor. With darkness engulfing the asylum, it took a moment before Jim realized his face was an inch away from the floor. So when he tried to catch himself, his face hit the ground hard, hsattering his glasses.
He let out an 'oof' as the air was pressed out of his lungs. After gasping pathetically for a few seconds, he turned around to see what had bumped into them, but now he could barely see anything at all.
''God Damnit.''
''Jim, we gotta go. We gotta run!'' Ken said beside him, grabbing his arm to haul him off the floor. Though seeing nothing, he'd never heard Ken sound so terrified of anything. So without a word, he ran with him.
They returned to the room with snail shells, the sounds of dozens of shells cracking under their feet echoed through the halls, alerting whatever was there to their location. The grip around his arm tightened and nearly slipped when Ken made a sudden turn to the right, giving him whiplash for a second.
Something was closing in behind them. He couldn't hear any footsteps, but it sounded as though a bell was getting closer to them. The alarm bells in his head began to ring. Shivers went up his spine.
''I think it's close, Ken!''
Ken whipped his head around and whatever he saw made him jump back around and speed up to a sprint.
''Fuck, fuck, fuck!''
''What is it!''
''It's that fucking demonic, laboratory technician!'' Ken shouted back.
Jim turned his head, but still couldn't see a thing.
''A-are you sure. You shouldn't trust everything you see-''
''Are you kidding me?? It's right there!''
Jim decided to keep his mouth shut and believe him as a siren got closer to them.
''Do you know where the exit is?''
Ken reached up to his hair and felt around frantically.
''No, I lost my hairclip.''
''Aren't you an engineer, can't you just make a new one?''
''Where do you think we are? My shop?''
Ken made another sharp turn and it again gave Jim whiplash. But he wasn't prepared for the next turn and while Ken avoided it, Jim ran straight into a wall. The sirens immediately passed through his head, then disapeared around the corner. He heard Ken shout his name before his voice dissapeared too.
Suddenly, everything was quiet...
