Loud and clear

Today is the worst day of my life. As usual,  my mom mom calls my name and asks if i saw her map. Her loud yelling makes me go deaf for a while. I believe that one of our ancestors was a mountain goat. That´s the only possible explanation for her range. Kindred spirits would also be elefants and barking dogs. It kills me inside that our neighbors are usually quicker to answer her than me. Konrad is the one who´s always answering back. He´s also my old snobby driving instructor. His gigantic belly protrudes over his discoloured pants. The yellow shirt he wears must be  a relic of the good old times. A paintbrush he once used has left a big red stain in the front that makes it look like he just got stabed. How exactly he´s still holding on to that hideous shirt ist beyond me.  In the corner of the room I see Mr. Jones, a curious fisherman, our house ghost, looking back at me. His smile tells me that he knows of the whereabouts of the map, but he will never divulge the hiding spot, not even if the world would come to an end. Zane, the reluctant cleric is already here
