She's Got You Number

"If you'd tapped it into your phone right away, like I said, we wouldn't be having this problem now."
Larson and Mable stood at the corner in the rain, but not just any rain. It was rain sent specially to show how ineffectual Larson was in arranging things for his wife.
"I don't know why I love you," said Larson.
"You don't have to love me, as long as you find that phone number."
They had traveled all this way, and now they couldn't reach Lorraine.
Larson checked his pockets and his wallet for the fifth time. No dice.
Mable smiled inside. Moments like this were what let her tighten his leash. And that hussy Lorraine. As if Mable didn't know what she was up to.
She hugged her bag, where she had hidden the number, a little tighter.
It was a stable union, and Mable intended to keep in that way.
