"where is it?" Maria sifted through her desk. " I swear it was here, just yesterday." She lifted a folder /i/so thats where my cousin's paintbrushes went/i/. She glanced at the clock. 2:35 shone at her in bright green. /i/if I don't find that phone number my borther will kill me. why did he insist I meet his fiancee over the phone anyway?/i/ 
Maria noticed a post-it on the ground. /i/Is that it?/i/ "Aha!" she exclaimed. 
15 minutes later she was typing the number into her flip phone. /i/I really ought to look into a replacement/i/ she thought, examining a crack in the screen. Pressing the call button, she waited for the mysterious fiancee to answer. /i/I wish they could come up with a less annoying ring for the waiting caller. I actually call people more than once a month then./i/ She heard a click-
"Hello, this is Althea Rose."
For a moment, Maria's head spun, trying to process the voice it heard. /i/what is that accent?/i/
