When The World Went Blind

They called it the Great Blinding. Within minutes of everyday, normal life, the entire world had lost its eyesight. For Adraa, who's life was centered around art, she lost her whole future. Adraa felt a touch of sunlight on her eyelids and breathed in. She was in her room, where she had boxed up anything she could touch including her little sister's rubber egg toys, so that she wouldn't trip on it. Reaching out, Adraa, felt the cool smoothness of the painted wall against her fingertips as she carefully made her way downstairs, long hair swishing as she went. Once she got to what felt like the bottom, Adraa carefully slid out the hard wood that indicated she was at the door, keeping her eyes closed. She couldn't see anymore, so what was the point of opening them? After searching blindly through the grass a few times, Adraa felt a few swchishy berries in her palm. A definite win. Her locket bounced against her collarbone, a cool reminder of her parents. She had lost them in the Blinding, and her little sister too. It was just her in her house now.
