Maria's New Job(s)

by Anonymous | Score: 3500

Maria worked in an office building on Main Street. On her walk, through the park, she passed the statuette in the fountain. She arrived to work and everyone was frantic. Their private data had been stolen and the business consultant was in with her boss. Maria was quickly ushered in to talk with her boss and the consultant. He was wearing a polka dot shirt with green pants. Who picked his clothes, a child? "You asked to see me?"
"Yes. There has been a leak of information and upon looking through your search history and computers information we think you are the culprit. I'm sorry but I expect you to pack up your things and be out of here in the next 20 minutes."
"Oh. Sir, I swear it wasn't me!"
"We can't be sure of that and unless you have proof, this isn't up for discussion!"
"Y-yes, sir." Maria exited the office and made her way to pack up her things. The consultant walked out and went to talk to Maria.
"Maria, right?"
"Uh, yes"
"I'm so sorry that you lost your job. I would like to offer you a job at my office across town."
"W-what?"
"Would you like to work for me?"
"Y-yes! Thank you so much!" Maria nearly dropped the paintbrush she was holding and threw her arms around the man.

Two weeks later. Maria had been working for the new man for about a week and she was loving it. It was late one night and as she was packing up her things to go home, she heard thunder outside.
"Great," she thought to herself and she headed out to her bike. Suddenly lighting struck her
