The Demon In The Dental Isle

I blinked as the bright light was in my face. Had it worked? I checked my watch. The date read, “December 20, 2020”. It had worked! I had traveled backwards one year! I jumped up and down in delight and the pregnant lady next to me dropped the tube of toothpaste she had been holding. Looking around, I noticed that I was in the middle of a grocery store. I blinked again. The lady looked like she had seen a ghost- me.
“HELP!” The lady screamed. “HELP! THERE’S A DEMON IN THE DENTAL ISLE!” I stumbled back. Demon? That was a bit harsh. The woman took off her bracelet and threw it at me, as if that would help her situation. Within seconds, the store’s security department was right there, grabbing my wrists and handcuffing me like they were police officers and I was a convict.
The next thing I knew I was outside as the police questioned the woman. “He just came out of nowhere! He popped into existence, and that shouldn’t be possible!” She was screaming. One of the police officers sighed and wrote something down in a notebook. “Get her something to eat. She’s been through something serious.”
Another officer gave the woman a pudding cup and moved on to question someone else.
