"No" the man said looking her dead in the eye.
"What do you mean no?"
"I mean, I'm not delivering this pakage for you, it's too dangerous and I'm not that kind of guy" he gathered his things and walked out of the diner, leaving Abby sat in the booth astonished.
She closed her laptop with the slideshow she had made to convince him and pushed the box at her feet around gently. She got out her novel that sat in her bag to help calm her down. What was she going to do now?
Outside the window, a teen was learning how to drive, specifically trying to parallel park, but he was failing miserably. Abby saw the driving instructor sigh and jot something down on a clipboard. He was never going to pass. Suddenly he backed up quickly as another car swerved round the corner. they crashed together making a loud explosion sound. another car spun to avoid the accident but ended up driving right into the turtle pond next to the diner.
Abby sat there, a blank expression on her face like this was not the first time this had happened, even though it was. she just looked down at her book that had a large image of a rhino on the cover and hugged it close, still not knowing what to do.
she considered calling her therapist but she would not want to be interrupted this late on a thursday night, Abby
