"OOOH!" Randy's mother practically screamed as she washed the dishes, "SHE'LL BE COMIN' AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WHEN SHE COOOOOOMES!!!"
Randy covered his ears. He was sitting on the couch watching his favorite cartoons with his little brother, Marcus.
In his opinion, Randy's mother's singing was only bad when she sang loudly. Randy sighed. He wasn't feeling crazy about hearing it any longer, so he slipped out the front door after a few minutes and decided to take a brief walk.
He ran into his good friend Zack when he passed his house.
"Heya Zack!" He shouted, Zack came over with a huge grin on his scrawny face.
"What's up?" Zack asked. Zack and Randy had been friends since - well, forever really.
"Nothing much," Randy shrugged, "Escaping from my mom's singing that's all."
Zack nodded, and started fiddling with his paint brush he for some reason always carries; Randy thinks it's 'cause he thinks he'll get inspiration for an art project. Zack, in Randy's opinion, was very talented at hand drawing.
"I was just helping my dad fix the car." Zack said, pointing to the oil and grease stains on his T-shirt.
Zack was 13 years old while Randy was only 9, so Randy often looked up to Zack.
"Woah! Cool!" Randy responded.
Just as Zack was going to say something else, Zack's mom called him in for dinner.
"I should probably head back also." Randy said, then he waved his hand in farewell.
