They could bearly see the trees through all of the mist, but they could hear perfectly, which is why they heard the scream that rang through them right to their bones.
The largest of their group, known as the barbarian, didn't move. he sat against a tree and ran a hand through his hair. he reached down and twiddled with the key chain attatched to his belt making a jingle noise that bounced off the trees.
"should we go and help them?" another of their group asked, a smart girl with glasses known only as the marketing director.
"no", The Barbarian said, "they're probably already dead"
as he said this, a loud chime sounded from above and the figure of a man appeared in the mist. standing far enough away from them, he placed down a box and turned and walked back from where he came. The barbarian bent down and shook the girl sleeping against a tree. she woke with a start and immedietly realised what had happened, "should we go and open it?" The shoemaker asked a slight hint of excitement in her voice.
without verbal conformation, the group started walking towards the package with the shoemaker bending down to open it when they arived. inside the brown cardboard parcel was a whip and a novel.
"what do we need this for?" the shoemaker asked looking at the rest of the group in turn, suddenly, up ahead
