Corrupt Professional Yugioh

"Is that it?"

Irene trembles. The bodyguards at the door, in equilibrium to her shatter, loom even taller, poise like statues. Summoned, planned, obedient to their game master, pieces of the true match.

"Is that really the best you can do?" Her young opponent adjusts his baseball cap, sinking into his leather chair. Soul lined with satin, flushed red, and monstrous as his deck, "I summon Veda on the field. Attack mode."

"Wait, verify-"

"Perfectly legal," clips Bodyguard 1, twirling a tube of ultraviolent lipstick. A glow whispers in its core.

Irene lifts a teacup in shakey hands, avoiding the nightshade seeds lurking on the table between them, uncaring to hide its nature between its visceral violet - a force of nature in living form, it cares not to be underestimated. The syrup bottle distorts the game, as her shoulders slip into the armrest. Energy depleted.

A slip of poison - enough to discomfort, not to kill - whispers through her veins, sinks into her stomach and leaves a sore cavity in her chest. But a traffic warden can't afford an apartment in this city. Games are the only rules a successful woman can play.

"I, I activate my Spell Card." Creak, echoes beyond the grand mahogany doors. A paper-thin spasm of wood. She prays it was just an unpleasant engineer who despised these floors as much as their night walkers. "Magic Hole. Your attack booster is destroyed, and Super Conductor, he's, you can't... kill him. It's fail."

"I know the rules of the game, miss Gale."
