I'm cooking an egg for breakfast when the whole kitchen shakes. "AAAAA!!" I hear my mom scream. I'm an auctioneer so I'm usually tolerant of wailing people, but her scream was so ear piercing I practically felt myself go deaf. "What happened?!" I yell to her in the backyard. "An airplane just crashed down the street!! And there are people coming out of it! Except it doesn't really look like an airplane, and the people coming out don't really look like people!" She shrieks. I run outside leaving my egg cooking on the stove and my tomato on the counter. I just assumed my father, a laboratory technician who's always unwilling to clean up after himself, dropped one of the six dirty plates on his desk. The sky that is usually grey from the long and freezing winter is bright red, but it's not from the airplane catching on fire. In fact, there was no fire.
