Freezing Bunk

The girl shivered in her bunk, curled up in a tight ball under her blanket for warmth. The small bedroom did not hold its heat well, most of it being lost through openings above and below the door. She couldn't help but curse herself for agreeing to go on this trip. No winter break skiing trip was worth this pain, she thought to herself.

Looking around the room, she could see the bland faded green walls and old wooden furniture of this mountain home. The window was frosted over, refracting the moon light throughout the room. One ray of light landed on a set of swimming goggles. With a soft chuckle, she reminisced about how her friend mistakenly bought the wrong kind of goggles prior to the trip, and was stuck with the
