"You said you knew what we were doing!"
"To a certain extent."
"I'm sorry." His voice was quiet, so quiet that she almost didn't hear it.
"It's ok. This is partly my fault too. Now can we please just get out of here?" She pleaded. A click sounded and the door swung open.
"Let's move."
"To a certain extent."
"You never even mention that! You're taking the fall for this, not me!" She shook the bars, as if that'll make them magically disappear. I scoffed.
"Really, darling, you think I didn't have a backup plan?"
"Not really, considering we're in a fucking jail cell right now!" Elena closed her eyes, trying to calm herself. She tried to conjure up a happy memory. Drinking wine alone in the bath. Getting her hair cut by that old lady down the street. Her thoughts were immediately disrupted by an explosion in the distance. Elena's eyes flew open. "What was that?"
"Our escape."
"Did you really have to use an explosion though?" Another rumble. "Scratch that, TWO explosions?" His confused expression made her heart drop to her feet. "What was that?"
"Lets hope we never have to find out, love. Now let's move."
"That sounded like an earthquake," Elena said, her voice small.
"Well I really hope it's not, as this is not the ideal situation to be experiencing a natural disaster at the moment."
"It's your fault we're in this certain situation right now!"
"Details, details." He produced lock picks from his sleeves and started to work the lock.

"Hey, uh.. It's kinda getting hot.. Is that normal?"
"No but we can't afford focusing on that right now." Elena noticed a thermometer on one of the walls of the prison. She couldn't see the numbers from where she was, but it was a bit too high for her comfort. "If you could get us out of here, like, right now that would be great."
"Be patient, love." He grumbled, still working on the lock. Out of nowhere, Elena gagged and he shifted his gaze to her, concerned. She immediately covered her mouth. "What was that?"
"I-I don't know."
"Don't tell me you got food poisoning."
"How was I supposed to know the food wasn't fresh?? We're stuck in this god awful prison, and for all we know the world is fucking ending outside! We don't know where anyone else is! And- and," Elena dropped her head in her hands. This wasn't supposed to happen.
