Escaping Manticore

by Monnie Lahndring | Score: 2150

Merida was walking out of the bank, cash in the briefcase, when she heard a bloodcurdling scream erupt from the mists around her.  She looked around, wondering where it came from, but nothing beyond that, and she walked away.  That was just how things worked here on the Manticore. Merida saw a soccer ball patter out of the mist, and she struggled to fully remember what this might have meant, if anything.  She decided to chance it and softly kicked the ball back into the mist.  The faeries wouldnt be able to ruin her for much longer once she got off the planet anyway.  Then, she heard a thunk.  Walking forward a bit more she eventually saw a dog, against the ground, and the soccer ball right next to them.  The dog was clearly injured, and as she went over to try and help the dog, she began to weeze.  She soon realized that she was laughing uncontrollably, so loud that people might question whether it was the mist or not.  This would not be good, if it drew attention.
