The Laugh

by E.G Hannigan | Score: 2800

When I laugh, I can't stop. Sometimes, it's a hilarious thing because my laugh seems to be contagious. When I'm chatting away with my driving students, I can't stop giggling. But then they crashed the car. They sued me for it too! Can you believe it? Said I put his life in grave danger. Of course, I didn't, nor did I want or mean to.
That was the first time I found my laugh could be a problem.
The second was when I went to my Grand daddy's funeral. My laugh was a problem there. My cousin punched me in the face for it, but even then I couldn't stop. He kept on punching and punching me until I couldn't see anything at all.
Years on and I still can't see. All I have are my ears, words and that dreadful horrible laugh that's ruined my life. It put me on the street.
I made sure to lay my legs out into the path of busy people just to solidify the fact that I wasn't alone in this world.  But I've always been alone. Just me and that stupid laugh that's put me in here with you. White walls, white clothes, white noise. Just me and that stupid laugh.
