Take a day off!

by Zy_gon | Score: 6050

"Ah!" Marcus wakes up panting, drenched in his own sweat. He lay back down in bed, used to this. It always happened on the last Wednesday of the month. Why? Who knows. Marcus was just tired of this happening over and over again. After a moment, he pushed himself off of his bed and grabbed a container of pudding. Marcus didn't have time to make breakfast. Plus, who didn't want pudding for breakfast? As Marcus was eating, he looked out the window and saw a huge storm. Trees were billowing, thunder was clapping, and the roads were slick. Marcus sighed. The only waterproof jacket he had was a skiing jacket that was waaaay to small for him at this age. Ugh, Marcus sighed. Maybe I should just skip work today. Marcus phoned his boss, who was ok with it since he wasn't planning on going in to the office either. Marcus sat down on his couch, and slightly in shock. Usually he would be rushing to work, completely stressed. Marcus felt the need to do something productive when he spotted his jump rope! People on Earth weren't really supposed to do much vigorous exercise now that world peace is achieved. The government didn't want them to train for anything. After Marcus's short jumping exercise, he set to work on his laptop, jotting down ideas for a next story. See, he was a journalist. He loved to write about the world. After a bit of research, Marcus decided to write about a famous author who has a novel coming up next week. Marcus let out an exhale of relief. His work was already done, way before his deadline, he had gotten a good exercise, and he was nice and relaxed. Not like his other work days. Marcus thought to himself, maybe I should take more day offs!
