Age of Fire

by Dell Mendes | Score: 3100

Enticing for the mad ones was the sound that sprang out of the deep cave. The people of Dheldan seemed to quiver at the noise. Soon after the first scream came another one - guttural and ethereal, another echo of anguish. Keen was the eye that saw the cloud of darkness forming itself towards the unexplored paths residing in the depths.

To kill was its only purpose towards humanity. Dense were its black waves, and far-reaching was the desperate melody of a demonic musician. The chaos increased while the firefighters attempted to contain their rage, all in vain. As if finally free from inside an arsonist most desired fantasy, the waterfall of flames escaped the cave and ran down the hills, lurking for flesh.

The damned engineer was right - Of course, the man was lucid enough. We shouldn't have ignored the call from the abyss. As the spirits have gone wild, civilization has come to an end by the Age of Fire.
