"A baby boy!" mom had said when I was born. "I have me a beautiful baby boy!" Through hardening up, I would have never imagined mom ever saying the words beautiful and boy in the same sentence. She was a methodical inventor always looking for ways to improve things, people, and her all time puzzle, men. She had never been one who was interested in men. The only reason why mom and dad are married today is because she had to fix his piano. Lucky dad had had his piano break at just the right time. Some say he purposely broke it to get his crush to fix it. After some hardy work of dad admiring mom's bysepts as she fixed the piano, she couldn't take it anymore and just broke the dang thing. She was never good at fixing pianos so the company fired her. She had taken up the job of being a astrologer always thinking of new ways to invent new tech. As that job got boring, she decided to write a novel. This didn't turn out good cause mom was never good at sitting still for long periods of time doing nothing. she had bought a computer just to write but then decided to use the thing for something else entirely. She had scrounged it for parts to build her all famous time machine. you heard me right. a TIME MACHINE!!! I got to travel to the past a few times but mom was seriously strict about never letting me interact with the people. Once, we had met an elderly enthrusiastic laboratory technician from mom's childhood. Well, watched was more like it. Sometimes, you just want to use the machine to go back in time to save those quackjobs who weren't able to save themselves due to some qirious reasons. But mom said no and mom's word was law. Inside of our tranquel home, we liked eating tacos, well, mom like eating tacos so that's what we ate. Once dad and I thought that she had eaten too many tacos realizing that her belly was expanding. When we shared our concerns with mom, she just laughed at us and called us "foolish quacks" saying that she was pregnant not "getting fat!" Dad was a childish manager of directors who like to wear
