Mutual Poison

by Jennings Alverson | Score: 2200

His heart is heavy as he stares at the sea. His world is silent, the sound of the waves muffled by his mind. Nothing could hope to mend his broken heart.

"We can repair this!" His beloved had said, yet they had been there a thousand times, and he wasn't about to be subjected to the same situation again.

He had told his love that they weren't good for each other, that they just didn't fit together. That they brought out the worst out of the other. He had said the truth.

He remembers the sound of a vase, as it smashed into the ground. The heavy pants from his lover in his rage, only for sobs to start wrecking his frame.

He left the cries behind him, letting his hurt be carried by the wind.

There'd come a day in which his heart would mend, in which he would learn to love again. But that day wasn't here nor there, wouldn't be for a long time.
