Friendship goals

The park closes and she loses her job, and with that her only source of income. It comes as a surprise, sudden and cutting, and leaves her in tears, trying to put her life hastily back together. She doesn't know what to do, how to fix this, but she swears she will find a way. Her friend Xavier tries to help her, yet she knows he can't do much. He has lost so much recently, he wouldn't be able to fix this even if he wanted to.

Xavier tells her she is making up excuses, trying to run from her problems. Tells her she can't say what he will or won't do, and that he will help her even if it's the last thing he does.

She accepts the help. Xavier works as an industrious management consultant, and that experience certainly amounts to something, she thinks.

The winter which she expects to be long and extremely cold suddenly turns into warm meeting at odd hours of the day, trying to find alternative jobs for her. She tells him about her obsession with screwdrivers when she was a kid, about how in love with technology she was, and he grins before telling her that perhaps something more in the IT Department would fit her.

She gets a nice job at a shop that sells and repairs electronic things and doesn't regret it. She moves in with Xavier and lives a quiet, happy life.
