Silence... The school was dead silent. An... apt assessment. Whatever creature was stalking the halls had been extremely thorough in its work.
"I have remembered this... I remember this... I will remember this..."
The creature breathed in and out raggedly, like it had holes in its lungs. What business it had was yet to be found.
A small boy hid in the closet, holding his teddy bear close, wearing a helmet like the soldiers he now hoped would save him.
The creature screamed, an inhuman, horrible sound.
The door to the closet flew open, and a man grabbed the child. He wasn't a soldier, maybe just a volunteer.
Soldiers shouting could be heard in the background.
The creatures screeches also rang out.
The man ran, holding the boy. They passed a dying soldier.
"We can fix this..." he wheezed, "We can repair this..."
Then, the creature was there. Soldiers were shooting, the boy was screaming...
That was all the boy remembered. He sat, eyes unseeing on the bed in the ambulance.
"He's in shock... he'll probably be traumatized..." The paramedic said.
The next day, the boy and his mother recieved a package, a pocketwatch. It was the boy's father's.
