I hear a shaking in my small apartment complex. Suddenly I find dishes moving and the foundation shaking. My cat scrabbles for cover under my soft, comfortable couch. She shrieks and screams. I can hear and Earthquake alarm in the distance. Weeooo Weeooo. It whales over and over. I freeze. I need cover. I need safety. Why why why do I freeze freeze freeze. Suddenly my mother’s words hit me. When in dance it out! I start bobbing my head. In my mind the clasping plates make a joyful rhythm. Dum dum de dum. Move, Jasmine, Move!
