Ground-shaking

by Jennings Alverson | Score: 2900

The ground shakes with force as the chandelier falls to the floor, the crash resounding throughout the mansion.  The glass is across the floor, no one seems to know what to do besides screaming.
Everyone is scared, running around trying to take cover, when someone is pushed beneath a falling piece of the ceiling.
"It was her!" A man points to a brown-haired woman, accusing.
"I didn't push him!" She says, trying to defend herself.
They don't have time to keep arguing as the ground shakes with more force, a lipstick falling from the woman's pockets.
The man cries out as the ground begins to crack. He had known something bad was coming, his card deck had told him so, yet he hadn't expected anything like this. There's pain behind his sobs, and then suddenly he doesn't think anymore.
There's little survivors when the ground finally stops shaking. A baby cries in the distance.
