Mia's Tuesday

The next day, I was free again. But for some reason, the universe hates me so much, that it had to rain. It had to rain in the middle of summer! And not just a light sprinkle kind of rain. I mean a straight-up down pour with lightning and everything. I groaned as I stared down the window. I gasped and rubbed my eyes. Had I been seeing things? I could've sworn I saw someone outside. Maybe it'd been a ghost.
"Mom!" my brother screamed in my ear. "Mia's seeing ghosts!"
I rolled my eyes, angry at myself. I just had to say that part out loud.
"Mia! Stop scaring your brother!" my mother scolded from the kitchen.
I got up from my spot on the window and checked my phone. I had one missing message from my uncle. I opened it and laughed at the picture he'd sent me of himself. Then I took a closer look and nearly dropped my phone.
"Mom!" I called.
"What?"
"My uncle won the lottery!" I exclaimed. I knew she wouldn't believe me so I rushed to the kitchen and showed her the picture.
She set down the bar of soap she was using to wash her hands and inspected the picture. Her eyes grew big and she reached for her phone. She searched for her brother's number but I beat her to it.
