Karl woke up to the sun barely peeking above the horizon and a familiar tingling in his wrist- one that was telltale of a travel. He sighed and slipped out to bed, kissing his fiances gently on their foreheads and stepped into the front yard, letting purple swirls fill his vision. When Karl woke up he was standing in the middle of a cobble road. He looked around, disoriented. He was in an old town, the buildings were all wood and there were horses riding in the street. Oh shoot. There were horses in the street. He was quickly shoved out of the road by a jovial looking young man. "Now good sir what are you doing in the middle of traffic?" Karl was still a little disoriented by the sudden travel and he struggled to come up with an excuse. The young man took one look at his face and shook his head, his brunette hair slipping out from under his cap. "Lets get you down to the station lad." Karl nodded and followed the man down the sidewalk past crowds who were clearly not from his time period. The man led him to what appeared to be a police station and opened the door. He was taken into a back room where the young man sat down behind a desk. In addition to the paperwork laying on top of the desk, there was also a bee plushie and a photo of the young man with three people who Karl presumed to be his family. The young man pulled out a pen and a sorted through a folder until he found a piece of paper. He set the paper down on his desk and looked at Karl. "So what's your name lad?" Karl looked up from the picture he had been studying. "Uh, Karl." The young man sighed. "You have a last name?" "no, its
