Thaw My Heart

by Destiny | Score: 1900

It was cold, so very cold, and bright. Winter was long and extremely cold, but that is to be expected of the frigid season.
I was standing out in the meadow, one my mother and I use to play and pick flowers all the time, I clenched my fist around the locket around my neck at the memory. Such sweet times, yet now it only serves as a painful reminder of how I failed her, failed them all.
Inhaling deeply I looked at the cloudy sky, watching as the sky darkened. I was pulled from my thoughts when a sudden pressure started in my midsection, spreading throughout my body.
What is this? What was happening? My confusion lasted only so long before my consciousness began to fade. The last thing I could recall was the faint pressure of what I could only think was my body hitting the ground.
When I awoke I immediately noticed something was off, the air was warm, I was warm. Opening my eyes I was met with a woman dressed in old-time-y clothes,
Even the way she spoke was off like I had traveled back in time.
